Basic Telecommunications Licensing Course

Requirements:

Effective January 1, 2014, this training is now a licensing course required of all new telecommunication specialists.  The course must be completed within one year of hire by an agency.  Participants must meet state minimum standards set forth by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), pass the course, and pass the TCOLE state exam in order to become licensed.

The class is open to individuals who are already working for a law enforcement agency and are seeking to obtain their licensing requirements mandated by TCOLE

It is required to complete the TCIC/TLETS Full Access course (4802) and the NIMS classes before this class.  TCIC/TLETS Full Access Course will be held the week prior to the Basic Telecommunications Class (1080).  Check our law enforcement training portal for class dates www.aarlea.com

NIMS 100 and 200 classes can be completed through FEMA on-line at:

There is no charge for the test.  For questions about this class or other Telecommunicator classes in the future, contact academy@aacog.com

Please ensure that you have met all TCOLE prerequisites prior to registering to take a state licensing exam.

Registering to take a licensing exam on our website does not confirm that an individual has met the state requirements or prerequisites to take the exam.  Employers and applicants must ensure that they meet state requirements to include medical, criminal history checks, psychological, endorsement letters, and any other training or requirements mandated by TCOLE prior to taking a state licensing exam.  TCOLE may be reached at 512-936-7700.
